Artfix L84C Quadruple Oil-Primed Extra-Fine 460gsm Linen Canvas is a Belgian 'handkerchief' linen canvas with an extremely tight, uniform weave and a very smooth surface for detailed oil painting. It is sized twice to seal the fabric, then hand-primed with four coats of Artfix’s lead-like oil primer, providing qualities associated with lead priming without toxicity. The absorbent surface allows paint to bite into the canvas for strong adhesion, while supporting depth of color and luminous undertones. Its extra-fine weave makes it suited to detailed work where a smooth, consistent painting surface is required. Not suitable for acrylic painting. Artfix Belgian linen has been handcrafted for over 30 years in Provence, France, by the Narozni family. The warm, dry climate is ideal for slow, even drying of primed canvas surfaces. Artfix Linen has superb archival characteristics: each canvas is guaranteed not to peel, crack or flake, and will not fluctuate or lose stability due to changes in humidity and temperature.
