Artfix L22U Universally Double-Primed Medium All-Purpose Linen Canvas is a Belgian linen canvas with a strong, tight weave and medium all-purpose texture. It is sized twice to seal the fabric, then hand-primed with two coats of Artfix universal acrylic primer.

The universal priming combines qualities associated with oil priming with the durability of acrylic, creating a surface that is more matte and absorbent than traditional glossy acrylic primers. It uses the same weave as Artfix L21C, but with acrylic rather than oil priming, and is suitable for oils, water-mixable oils, alkyds, acrylic paints, egg tempera, and casein.

Artfix Belgian linen has been handcrafted for over 30 years in Provence, France, by the Narozni family. The warm, dry climate is ideal for slow, even drying of primed canvas surfaces. Artfix Linen has superb archival characteristics: each canvas is guaranteed not to peel, crack or flake, and will not fluctuate or lose stability due to changes in humidity and temperature.
