<p>This set is part of the Schmincke Horadam Retro Watercolor Collection. The range features a selection of special edition sets inspired by the original packaging design and color selections from a 1930s catalog in the Schmincke archives. This set of six 5ml tubes provides a harmonious palette including three special reissued colors: Gamboge Gum, Solferine, and Cassler Brown. It comes packaged in a compact metal tin using the graphics and typeface from the period. The tin features a historical owl print on the outside as well as an image on the inside of Jan Wellem, an art-loving cultural patron of the city of Düsseldorf.</p><p>In order to achieve the best possible standards of lightfastness, resolubility and stability, Schmincke Horadam Watercolors contain only the finest raw materials. The paints are bound with Kordofan gum arabic from the southern Sahara. Due to the natural source of the binder, the gum arabic does tend to differ slightly year on year. Schmincke continually test the ingredients, and the best of the batch is selected to ensure the highest quality is achieved. This means paint which has dried onto your palette can be easily re-wetted and painted with again.
