Daniel Smith's goal is to make the painting process as memorable as your finished masterpiece. Daniel Smith have spent eighteen years developing the finest and most complete line of watercolor paint so you can create your own unique vision. Today as in 1993, these watercolors are 'formulated to meet and exceed the highest industry standards for the manufacture of artist's paints', and every batch made is tested and analyzed for its performance qualities. Part of Daniel Smith's Signature Series, Joseph Z's Neutral Gray is a rich black/gray, very dark in mass tone and because it has almost no color bias it mixes beautifully to tone down colors. Joseph Z's Neutral Gray is semi-transparent, granulating, low staining and has excellent lightfastness. Joseph Zbukvic describes it as: '…perfect for those strong, New York type cityscapes. When undiluted it is basically black and can provide powerful monolithic shapes without looking chalky. It gives a look of charcoal drawing or old-fashioned photographs.' This is a 15ml tube of Daniel Smith Signature Series Watercolor in Joseph Z's Neutral Gray.
