Derived from guar beans, Rublev Guar Gum Medium is a natural and effective thickener and emulsifier for water-based paints. It arrives as a highly refined powder that dissolves smoothly in water, forming a thixotropic solution. When incorporated into watercolors, casein, emulsions, or marbling colors, it enhances viscosity, flow, and pigment suspension.

With 8 times the thickening power of cornstarch, Guar Gum helps control paint consistency while keeping pigments evenly suspended. Unlike locust bean gum, it doesn’t thicken on its own but can be combined with borax or calcium compounds to adjust texture. It maintains a smooth, stable consistency across a pH range of 5–7, making it a versatile ingredient for a range of applications.
