Cookies and Browser Storage
Effective date: October 22, 2026
ArtSnag uses cookies and browser storage to support sign-in, saved items and preferences. This page explains those features and our separate usage analytics. Contact contact@artsnag.com with questions.
Cookies used for sign-in
Cookies are small values stored by your browser and sent with matching website requests. The following cookies support features when you use them. They are not all set when you simply visit the homepage.
- Account session:
__Secure-better-auth.session_token. Keeps you signed in to your ArtSnag account. Its configured lifetime is up to seven days and it can be refreshed during use. Signing out clears the session cookie. - Session-only preference:
__Secure-better-auth.dont_remember. For sign-in requests that disable remembered sessions, this cookie records that choice. It has no persistent expiration date and is treated as a session cookie by the browser. Browser session-restore settings can affect how long session cookies remain. - Google sign-in security:
__Secure-better-auth.state. When Google sign-in is available and you choose it, this temporary cookie helps verify the sign-in response. Its configured lifetime is five minutes and it is cleared during completion of the sign-in flow. - Email-only alert access:
__Secure-artsnag_alerts. When email-only tracking is available and you verify your email, this cookie gives you access to manage your alerts. Its configured lifetime is seven days. It is limited to the alert-management paths. Signing out of alert management clears it.
These cookies use security settings that restrict access by page scripts and require an encrypted connection. Cookie expiration is not the same as deletion of the related account or server records.
Local browser storage
Local storage stays in your browser and is different from a cookie. These entries have no fixed automatic expiration in ArtSnag's code:
artsnag.stash.v1stores your browser-only saved product identifiers and save dates. It remains until you remove the items or clear the site's browser data. Choosing to import or share a stash can send those saved items outside the browser.artsnag.analytics-consent.v1remembers whether you have turned usage analytics on or off in that browser. Clearing it resets the choice to ArtSnag's default behavior, subject to your browser's privacy signals.
Clearing local storage does not delete your account stash or other server records.
Usage analytics
Our current analytics integration does not set analytics cookies or store a visitor identifier in local storage. Instead, it uses an identifier held in page memory that resets when the page reloads.
Limited public-page views, product views, retailer clicks, search-result counts, catalogue performance information and basic error information are sent through ArtSnag's relay to PostHog in the United States. The relay does not forward your browser headers or IP address to PostHog. It does not send search terms, form values, account details or stash contents, and it does not record browsing sessions.
Analytics is on by default. You can turn it off through Usage analytics on the site. We also disable this collection when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. This control does not disable the technical processing needed to serve and secure the site.
Other services
ArtSnag uses Cloudflare hosting and Turnstile security checks. These services process technical request information to protect the site. A security check is separate from our usage analytics.
When you choose Google sign-in or open a retailer or affiliate link, those services have their own cookies and privacy practices. Some MEEDEN links pass through the Awin affiliate network, which may use tracking technologies to attribute purchases. ArtSnag's analytics setting does not control storage on those other services.
Your controls
Your browser settings let you inspect, block or clear cookies and local storage. Blocking sign-in cookies can prevent account or alert-management features from working. Clearing browser storage can remove your browser-only stash and analytics preference.
For more about account information, sharing and privacy requests, read our Privacy Policy. We will update this page when relevant practices change and revise the effective date.
