Manetti : Water Gilding : Ready Gesso : 125ml

Manetti Water Gilding Ready Gesso is a ready-to-use sizing ground for water gilding, applied directly to the surface before the bole. Made from rabbit skin glue and calcium carbonate, it forms the preparatory base needed for a smooth gilding surface.

It should be shaken well before use and applied with a brush in two to four coats, depending on the surface preparation required. Once fully dry, it can be sanded and smoothed with progressively finer abrasives to create an even surface for gilding, helping prevent imperfections from showing through the leaf or causing it to tear.
