Schmincke Horadam Aquarell Half Pans are individually optimized and formulated using the highest-quality pigments, water-soluble resins, and natural gums. Produced in Germany since 1881, the company is now owned by the fourth generation of the original family. Today the line includes an array of brilliant, intense, professional-quality colors — many of them with the highest lightfastness ratings of 4 or 5 stars. Smooth flowing and intermixable, colors that have dried on the palette can be reactivated with a wet brush.

- Pigment Red PR144 is slightly bluish red pigment with high tinting strength and medium opacity.
- Permanence
- Pigment Red PR144 exhibits very good lightfastness, a property that is rare in bluish red pigments. Disazo condensation pigments are more expensive to manufacture than their monoazo and disazo counterparts, but their lightfastness and stabilty is considered to provide a justification for this expense in applications such as art materials.
