• Effectively thins oil colors and mediums
• Great for cleaning brushes and tools
• Compatible with dammar resin (not mastic)

Schmincke Turpentine Substitute delivers the reliable thinning power of traditional turpentine with a low odor that makes it ideal for artists with sensitivities. This professional mineral spirit handles oil colors, mediums, and dammar resin while helping keep brushes in good shape. It’s a practical choice for artists who prefer a lower-odor option without sacrificing performance.

Note that this substitute won’t mix with alcohol-based varnishes or dissolve mastic resin, so it’s best used alongside oil-compatible products. Always use in a well-ventilated space for comfortable, responsible studio work.
