Ampersand : Smooth Primed Artist Panels

Ampersand Smooth Primed Artist Panels provide an exceptionally smooth, semi-absorbent, acid-free ground suitable for painting and drawing. The evenly primed acrylic gesso surface has minimal surface texture, making it particularly suited to fine detail, fluid lines, and controlled applications of paint.

Cradled panels are made from 3mm MDF, supported by solid pine wood frames and are available in 22mm and 38mm profiles. The surface and cradle sides are primed, allowing artwork to continue around the edges without additional preparation. The rigid construction provides a stable alternative to flexible painting supports and can be hung or framed.

A 3mm uncradled version is also available, made from Ampersand hardboard and sealed with smooth, acid-free acrylic gesso. It can be used for painting and drawing or as a rigid support for mounting paper, canvas, and giclée prints.
