SKU WDN15SMC

The Daniel Smith Watercolor Paint Mayan Collection features their classic Mayan Blue Genuine and five recently introduced Mayan colours which offer the same brilliance and high quality pigments. First created in the ninth century, Mayan Blue was a hybrid pigment of organic and inorganic compounds, including the plant-based Indigo. Ancient Mayan civilizations relied upon its luminous and lightfast properties until it disappeared in the 1600s. Its fabrication remained a mystery for hundreds of years. Scientists finally identified its unique crystalline structure in the 1950s and successfully duplicated the ancient process to bring the lost Mayan Blue pigment back to the art world. Daniel Smith's goal is to make the painting process as memorable as your finished masterpiece. Daniel Smith have spent eighteen years developing the finest and most complete line of watercolor paint so you can create your own unique vision. Today, just like in 1993, these watercolors are formulated to meet and exceed the highest industry standards for the manufacture of artists' paints, and every batch made is tested and analyzed for its performance qualities. This set contains the following 15ml colours: Mayan Red Mayan Yellow Mayan Orange Mayan Dark Blue Mayan Violet Mayan Blue Genuine
