Holbein Watercolor Pencils feature the same rich color tones as Holbein Artists’ Watercolors, a professional standard since 1946. With identical color reference numbers across both lines, the pencils integrate seamlessly within Holbein’s watercolor system, making it easy to move between drawing and painting without color shifts or guesswork.

Each pencil contains a thick, 3.8 mm pigment-rich core. Developed through extensive formulation and testing, the cores strike a calibrated balance—firm enough for precise mark-making, soft enough for smooth, even laydown. When activated with water, marks dissolve cleanly into clear, luminous washes for fluid blending. High concentrations of lightfast pigments produce brilliant colors that resist fading over time.

Hexagonal cedar barrels feel comfortable in hand and stay put on flat surfaces. The varnished wood body features color-dipped ends, leaving space for clear labeling that shows branding, color names, and lightfastness ratings, so it's spot the exact color you need.

Outstanding for professional artists, designers, and illustrators, Holbein Watercolor Pencils offer refined handling, excellent water solubility, and consistent color harmony across wet, dry, and mixed media techniques.
