Winsor & Newton : Professional Watercolor : 5ml : New Gamboge
SKU WW5267
Series number: 1 Chemical description: Quinacridone, Azo Nickel Complex Colour index name: PR209 PY150 Colour index number: 48545 Permanence rating: A ASTM lightfastness rating: II Transparency/Opacity: ST The colors are chosen according to mass tone (color from tube), undertone (bias of color when in a thin film), color strength, relative opacity and the character of the pigment in watercolor, ie. granulating, staining or even wash. The resultant color spectrum ensures the largest number of colors can be mixed from the range. The optimum brilliance of every color in the Artists' Water Colour range is unparalleled by any other watercolor. Remarkably, this brilliance is combined with high permanence. New Gamboge - pigment change Originally produced using Gamboge, a colored gum from the Garcinia plant, Artists' Water Colour Gamboge was discontinued in 2005, due to its toxic characteristics. Its replacement was a different shade, due to the pigments available and renamed New Gamboge. Due to the above pigment discontinuation, New Gamboge, in both Professional Water Colour and Cotman, has been reformulated once again and, with advances in pigment technology, the color is much closer to its original namesake, delivering greater authenticity within the spectrum. The pigments have changed from Nickel Dioxine PY153 to Quinacridone PR209 & Azo Nickel Complex PY150 Please note: due to trading agreements we are unable to supply this product outside of the EU. However, we don't want to disappoint anyone, so please feel free to use code USA10 for 10% off your first order on any other brand.
