Caran d’Ache Neocolor II Aquarelle Artists’ Pastels combine professional-quality pigment with the versatility of a water-soluble wax stick. Each pastel delivers bold, luminous color with a smooth, creamy texture that glides across paper for easy layering, blending, and shading—wet or dry.

Used dry, they behave like a soft, highly pigmented crayon with excellent coverage and minimal dust. Add water, and they instantly dissolve into vibrant, brush-like washes, perfect for watercolor effects, glazing, and mixed-media work. Softer than colored pencils but firmer than soft pastels, they offer the control needed for detail work with the expressive potential of paint.

Lightfast, low-dust, and responsive, Neocolor II sticks perform consistently across a wide range of surfaces including watercolor paper, bristol, toned paper, and textured grounds. Available in up to 126 colors and multiple curated sets, each stick measures 4-1/16" × 5/16" (103 mm × 8 mm).
