Thick 3.8 mm cores are soft enough for creamy-smooth laydown and effortless blending, yet firm enough for precise, crisp lines and detailed work. Crafted in Japan, Holbein’s unique formula combines high-grade oils, waxes, and pure, hand-selected pigments for intense, true-to-life color across every technique.

Pre-sharpened for immediate use, these pencils glide across a variety of papers—from smooth illustration board to textured watercolor paper—and layer beautifully over other media, including watercolor, gouache, and acrylic. Rigorously for superior lightfastness, Holbein’s premium pigments guarantee that your artwork remains vibrant over time.
