Japanese Rubber Roller/Brayer : 60 Shore : 130mm

These rollers from Japan are tough, well made and with care they will last for years. Made with a nice thick covering of 60 shore natural rubber giving the rollers a medium hardness, and a generous 48mm diameter. The wide diameter increases the amount of ink pick-up and distribution. The wooden handle has been designed for a comfortable grip, with the option to insert a screw-eye in the end for hanging up to store. The roller and frame can be dismantled to enable thorough cleaning. These Japanese rollers have been popular across the world for decades and are suitable for fine detail wood engraving through to applying etching grounds. As with all rollers, care should be taken to look after them. Do not let ink dry on their surface and after cleaning lightly dust with talc to stop the surface getting sticky. If you use a solvent to remove ink from the roller, ensure that you wash the solvent off with a mild detergent and water before drying and dusting with talc. Store without the roller resting on its rubber surface.
