Schmincke : Mussini Oil Mediums

Schmincke Oil Painting Mediums offer artists greater control over oil paint properties, including consistency, drying time, and gloss, expanding creative possibilities across a range of techniques.

• Mussini Medium 1 (Thinning Medium): Ideal for lean layers and thin grounds; made with safflower oil and mineral spirits; thins paint without significantly affecting drying time or gloss.
• Mussini Medium 2 (Slow Dry Medium): Extends drying time for blending and wet-on-wet techniques; oil-rich formula enhances gloss and dries to an elastic film.
• Mussini Medium 3 (Fast Dry Gloss Medium): Accelerates drying while boosting gloss, depth, and durability; resin-rich and should be used sparingly.
• Medium W (Water-Mixable Medium): Allows traditional oil paints to be mixed with water instead of solvents; enhances gloss and transparency, reduces odor and mess, and is easy to clean with soap and water.
