Speedball Mid-Fire Glazes have been developed in partnership with ceramic artist Nancy Sowder. They are available in a range of 30 colors for creating decorative mottled and reduction-like effects for pottery and ceramic works, as well as for sealing the clay body to make it waterproof and food-safe. The Speedball Mid-Fire Glazes can be used on their own, or layered with other colors to create interesting variations. They can be applied by pouring, brushing, or dipping. Once dry, the work can be fired at Cone 5/6. Results may vary based on individual application methods and firing techniques. It is recommended to create a test piece as a visual reference. For consistent results, cool all colors on a normal cooling cycle. Midnight Plum provides an intense dive into a gloss glaze worthy of royalty. Somewhat opaque in finish, Midnight Plum glides smoothly over high points and textures pausing with sky blue colors at the breaks.
