Chroma Atelier Traditional Gel Mediums are thick, fast-drying, waterbased acrylic gels designed to exaggerate paint structure, create texture, and extend acrylic colors without altering their consistency. Choose from two thicknesses, including Regular and Heavy.

Heavy Gel Medium is thicker and ideal for impasto techniques. It produces textured peaks and brush strokes when applied with a palette knife and can also be used as a strong adhesive for collage or bonding objects to the painting surface.

Regular Gel Medium has a buttery consistency, making it a good choice for altering the transparency of the paint without changing the consistency.

All Gel Mediums can be mixed directly with acrylic paint or applied on top. Once dry, the surface is water-resistant and will take on the finish of the gel medium.
