Awagami papers are made from traditional natural fibers such as Kozo and Gampi as well as Bamboo, Cotton, and Hemp. They are produced at Awagami Factory, a sixth-generation family-run paper mill where traditional methods of making washi sit alongside modern innovations.
Shiramine is one of Awagami's signature machine-made washi. It has a gentleness of touch but with adequate strength and thickness for printmaking and Japanese painting. It has a soft feel and shows the beauty of the fibers.
