Jackson's : Rabbit Skin Glue : 3kg

Jackson's Rabbit Skin Glue is a traditional adhesive used for sizing canvas before oil priming, and for adhesive work in gilding and restoration. It is also commonly used in the preparation of gesso and as a sealant. It is prepared by dissolving it in water, preferably using a double-boiler and heated to just below boiling point, around 60 to 63°C. Avoid boiling the glue as it will lose its strength. Once mixed, it can be applied where a traditional animal glue is needed for sealing, sizing, or bonding applications. As a size prior to priming for oil painting, it creates a tight and archival quality surface. This is a 3kg quantity of Jackson's Rabbit Skin Glue.
