About this supply
Handprinted Soya Wax has a lower melting point than beeswax or paraffin and can be washed out of the fabric with ease. All tools used for Soya Wax batik should be kept separate from those used for Paraffin/Beeswax.
Soya wax will produce less crackle than standard Batik Wax, so work appears less traditional. Crackle batik is an effect produced when the waxed fabric is crumpled to crack the applied wax. The dye then seeps through the cracks in the wax to give a random veined pattern to the marks.
