These Yasutomo Gansai Artist Collection Watercolor Sets deliver the brilliance, depth, and luminous sheen of traditional Japanese watercolor in two artist-curated palettes. Solid, pigment-rich pans activate quickly, offering a creamy, responsive texture that moves easily from bold, opaque strokes to soft, translucent washes.

Their natural glue binder—distinct from the gum arabic used in Western watercolor—gives each color creamy-smooth flow, rich surface sheen, and a clean, smudge-resistant finish on washi, rice papers, and classic watercolor stocks.

Available in two thoughtfully assembled 8-color palettes, each set includes two metallics for shimmering highlights or layered accents. Whether you’re exploring Japanese watercolor techniques or expanding your mixed-media practice, these sets deliver vivid color payoff and elegant handling, expertly crafted in Japan.
