Silver Brush Black Velvet Brushes are made from a blend of natural squirrel hair and a high quality synthetic filament called Risslon. Because they are blended, these premium short-handle brushes possess the durability and spring of a synthetic brush, and the color-holding capacity of a squirrel mop, making them a great choice for the watercolorist. The squirrel hair gives Black Velvet a full belly that holds a maximum amount of color, so you don’t have to reload the brush as often, while the synthetic hair provides a snap that ensures the brush will come to an extremely fine point. These versatile brushes can be used to produce fine lines, broad strokes, flowing washes or precise details. Suitable for a wide choice of water-based paints, including watercolor, gouache, ink, and silk paints.
