Clairefontaine Pastelmat Pastelgrain Packs contain five 50 x 70cm sheets with a premium card-based surface specially developed for soft pastels. The unique velvety surface, made from a fine coating of pumice and cellulose fibers, has the ability to grab and hold multiple layers of even the softest pastels.

Pastelmat significantly reduces the need for fixative, which means that colors remain vibrant and fresh once applied. It has the added bonus of being gentle on both fingers and blending tools. It is acid-free, pH-neutral, and lightfast.

Pastelmat is ideal for use with all dry media including soft pastels, PanPastel, pencils, and charcoal. It is also water-resistant making it suitable for wet media such as acrylics, watercolor washes, and mixed media techniques.

This pack contains five 360gsm sheets in Sienna.

Please note, PastelMat is sometimes subject to some small spotting and discoloration. This is to be expected due to the manufacturing process. The small talc spots can simply be removed with a stiff brush or a craft knife.
