Jacksons’s : Oil Painting Workshop : Exploring Mediums : Observational Painting with Julia Pomeroy : 14th November 2026

<p>Join artist Julia Pomeroy for <em>Exploring Mediums: Observational Painting</em> on 14 November 2026, 3.30pm–6.30pm at Jackson’s Art Dalston, London. This hands-on oil painting workshop explores mediums, texture, and layering, giving participants the opportunity to discover how different additions can change the handling, appearance, and finish of oil paint.</p> <p>Through practical exercises and examples from artists, Julia will introduce Shellsol, linseed oil, and impasto medium, exploring how each can be used to develop different approaches to building a painting. You’ll then put these discoveries into practice by painting from observation with a limited palette, focusing on how light, shadow, and tone give form to an object.</p> <p>You’ll have the freedom to choose your preferred medium and develop your own approach before coming together to share and discuss the results. All materials and refreshments are provided.</p> <p><strong>About Julia Pomeroy</strong></p> <p>Julia Pomeroy is a London-based artist working from ACME Studios in Walthamstow. Her heritage spans Scotland, Central Ireland, and Britain. She completed her MFA at City & Guilds of London Art School in 2024 with a Leverhulme Scholarship.</p> <p>Julia has exhibited with The Koppel Project, The Florence Trust, Auto Amor, and others.
