This Books By Hand Blank Cover Tibetan Style Bookbinding Kit makes two distinctive handmade books inspired by traditional Tibetan book structures. Instead of thread or glue, the pages are laced together with ribbon, echoing one of Asia's oldest bookmaking traditions, in which stacked pages were tied and wrapped to keep them safe.

The result is a striking, tactile format with a long cultural history and a beautiful sculptural quality. Use the finished books as journals, junk journals, keepsake books, or one-of-a-kind handmade gifts.

The kit makes two books in two sizes, one 4-1/4" × 6-1/2" and the other 5" × 7-1/2", so you can keep one and gift one, or use them as a matched set. The ribbon binding lets the pages open easily, and the blank covers are yours to customize with paint, ink, collage, decorative paper, or fabric.
