About this product range
Mayco Elements Glazes were designed to simulate the aesthetic, movement, and interest of mid-range and high fire glazes in a cone 06/05 oxidation kiln firing. They produce lush, organic, earthy hues inspired by nature, giving artists a wide range of options.
The application, firing temperature, and shape of each pottery piece will influence the outcome of the finished work. Surfaces may vary from gloss to matte, with subtle variations occurring in each color for a truly unique look. These glazes can also be combined or layered to create unique hues.
Elements Glazes are designed to mature at cone 06/05. Apply 2-3 coats to cone 04 bisque, allowing each coat to dry. As movement and flow are characteristics of these glazes, taper off toward the bottom of the piece to prevent runoff.
Mayco Elements Glazes can also be combined with Mayco Pottery Cascades Glazes to create movement in the colors. Great visual effects can be created when Cascades are added under, over, or between Elements glazes.
These glazes will produce interesting effects at higher firing temperatures (cone 6) and will change color.
