About this supply
Birch plywood is widely used for woodcuts and printing with oil-based or water-based inks. Grown in cold climates, it is dense and fine-grained.
Handprinted Birch Plywood is 6.5mm thick, with birch throughout all five layers. Light sanding before use is recommended, and brushing the surface can enhance the grain, allowing it to become part of the printed image.
Sold as single-sided blocks; the reverse may contain a plug that could show in prints if used.
This is a 150 x 200mm birch plywood block, 6.5mm deep.
