Princeton Heritage Synthetic Sable Brushes were Princeton’s original benchmark for performance and quality in synthetic sable design. Developed over 30 years ago by master Japanese brushmaker Naohide Takamoto - the ‘Tak’ in ‘taklon’ - the Heritage Series 4050 combines multiple diameters of golden taklon fibers to replicate the natural spring, snap and color-holding ability of sable. The result is a brush that performs beautifully across a range of techniques.

Ideal for watercolor, these brushes deliver consistent flow, precise control, and a razor-sharp edge for both detail work and broad washes. The perfectly balanced handle ensures comfort, while the responsive synthetic hairs maintain their shape and resilience over time. Princeton Heritage brushes bring the feel of fine sable to everyday painting through a highly crafted synthetic brush range.
