Daniel Smith : Watercolor Paint Stick : Ivory Black

Daniel Smith Ivory Black is a warm, semi-transparent leaning to an opaque pigment. Historically, this black was derived from burnt ivory from a now endangered species. Thankfully, this is no longer the practice. Ivory Black touched with yellow creates a blackened green excellent for backlit foliage. Think Sumi and hand-painted stone lithographs. This color can be used to darken transparent pigments.

Daniel Smith Watercolor Sticks offer remarkably rich, vibrant colors and the same pure artists' pigments as their Extra Fine Watercolor Paint. They are very portable and long lasting and make excellent on-the-go painting tools. Each stick is packed with pure pigment and produces vibrant, strong color when wet.
