Get creative with your ceramics pieces by coating them in Mayco Stoneware Engobes! Made with finely ground clay, the slip-like liquid lends an opaque smoothness to wet clay, greenware, and soft-fired, Cone 04 bisque.
Use a contrasting color of engobe to create stunning sgraffito designs, experiment with majolica techniques, or transform your ceramics by coating them in a whole new hue. These engobes can be used in oxidation or reduction firings up to cone 10, and they fire to a matte finish at Cone 6 oxidation. A clear glaze can be applied to fired pieces for greater color intensity— or to make pieces safe for use as dinnerware.
