Schmincke’s Medium W allows transforms traditional oil colors into water-mixable oil colors, allowing them to be mixed with water instead of turpentine or linseed oil. Simply mix one-part Medium W with two parts oil paint using a palette knife or spatula, then add water to thin your paint as needed.

Medium W boosts the gloss and transparency of your colors while harmonizing the drying process. Though paints may temporarily appear lighter or "milky" when wet, the alkyd resin in Medium W ensures that your colors return to their original vibrancy once dry, delivering stunning results without the need for solvents. Brushes and tools used with Medium W can be easily be cleaned with soap and water as well, eliminating the need for harsh solvents.
