Jackson's : Wooden Panel : 24x36in (Approx. 61x91cm) : 20mm Deep

Jackson's Wooden Panels are made of smooth, sanded light plywood, reinforced on the reverse with a wooden crossbar to help prevent warping. Sturdy yet lightweight, they are suitable for plein air painting projects and work in the studio.

These panels are made from wood and are not supplied sealed. This means that liquids are absorbed into the surface and, if the panel becomes too wet, the veneer may swell. For painting, seal the surface with a suitable glue size or acrylic-based primer. When applying acrylic gesso primer, avoid thinning it with water.

After sizing, we recommend priming with acrylic gesso and sanding the surface to produce a smooth yet slightly absorbent surface. Once appropriately primed, the panel can be prepared for use with a wide range of painting media.

Jackson's Wooden Panels can also be used for encaustic painting, or as a work support or drawing board.

Available in 20mm (approx. 3/4in) and 50mm (approx. 2in) deep profiles, in a wide range of sizes.

Please note, as wood is a natural material, small cracks may occasionally develop on the surface. If present, sand the affected area smooth before applying a sealer or primer.
