Blick Essentials Matte Glazes deliver a soft, muted matte finish in two foundational neutrals: Matte White and Matte Black. Offering smooth application and consistent results at a price that makes stocking your studio easy, use them to achieve the modern, muted aesthetic that's become a hallmark of contemporary studio pottery. Perfect for sculptural forms, minimalist tableware, and modern functional ware. '
Apply to cone 04/03 earthenware bisque and glaze fire to cone 06/05 for a matte finish. Formulated to dry fast for same-day firing, two to three coats give full opaque coverage. They can also be applied to wet or leatherhard clay; brush on 2–3 coats over the entire piece, leaving the back or bottom unglazed for outgassing, then allow to dry completely before firing.
Applied to soft-fired stoneware bisque and glaze fired to cone 5/6, the matte finish shifts to glossy, giving you two looks from one jar. We recommend testing on your preferred clay body and firing temperature prior to use.
Pair with Blick Essentials Gloss Glazes for a full studio palette of bright colors and grounding neutrals.
Low-fire ware is not recommended for use as ovenware.
Made in the USA.
