About this supply
Sennelier Picture Varnish Matte is a synthetic resin-based final varnish that forms a tough, colorless, and durable protective film over oil and acrylic paintings. It dries quickly to a matte finish, enhancing color depth while safeguarding the surface from environmental factors.
This varnish should only be applied to completely dry paint layers and is best thinned with rectified turpentine spirit. While it provides excellent protection, it forms a hard-to-remove layer, so careful application is recommended.
