About this supply

Awagami Washi Sekishu is one of the oldest handmade papers in the world, crafted from Kozo (mulberry) pulp and alpha cellulose. With its natural white tone and feathered deckle edges, this lightweight 35gsm paper seamlessly blends when used for repairs or overlays.

Unsized and exceptionally versatile, Sekishu is ideal for hinging, mending, and backing in book conservation, as well as for intaglio printmaking, woodcut, collage, and painting applications. Its delicate strength and archival quality make it an excellent choice for restoration, printing proofs, and fine art techniques.

Awagami Washi is crafted in Tokushima, Japan, using a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques. For nearly 300 years, the mill has produced premium washi paper using natural fibers, and their products are trusted by artists and designers worldwide.

This is a pack of 10 sheets of 98 x 66cm Awagami Washi Sekishu Paper in White.
